I am a retired elementary teacher with 31 years of classroom experience. I began my teaching journey at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, where I earned my B.S. in Elementary Education. Over the years, I taught kindergarten, 1st grade, and 6th grade. During my career, I was honored to be a Teacher of the Year candidate three times and to receive the title twice. My teaching focused strongly on English Language Arts, early literacy, phonemic awareness, and math, always keeping in mind Common Core, TEKS, and Oklahoma Academic Standards (OAS). Now in retirement, I enjoy creating educational resources and keeping and teaching my 3 year old granddaughter. My resources are built with the same care and dedication I brought to my classroom, helping teachers and families support young learners. I have also had the joy of becoming a children’s author and recently published my book, There’s a Worm in My Bathtub, inspired by a memorable classroom moment. Beyond education, I cherish life with my husband of 43 years, my two grown children, and six beautiful grandchildren.
