About this course
Continuing on from Part 1, your child will now learn the multiplication tables of 7, 8, 9, 11 and 12 with structured drills (guided videos) and with interactive exercises. Also included are lessons and exercises where students use multiplication in word problems, continue patterns, review previously learned multiplication facts, and solve puzzles. For each table, we start with the skip-counting pattern. Next, there is "structured drill" where we use the structure of each table in the drill (this promotes conceptual understanding). Then, we also practice each table "backwards" (for example ____ x 8 = 48), which essentially teaches the child the corresponding division facts also. Check also the part 1 of the course, which teaches the tables of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 10. Note: This course does not teach the multiplication concept itself.

Course Author
Maria Miller🇺🇸
Maria Miller is a math teacher, author of Math Mammoth books, and a homeschooling mom. She grew up in Finland and earned her master's degree in mathematics there in 1997. Miller started writing math books in 2002, prompted by her experiences in tutoring homeschooled children. She felt the books they were using were inferior, especially when it came to conceptual understanding of mathematics. She began to write books that focus on the concepts and the "why" of mathematics, though not forgetting the "how" and the needful practice. Eventually these materials turned into a complete math curriculum under the name Math Mammoth. Her books and videos have become popular and appreciated, both among parents and teachers. Math Mammoth materials and videos focus on number sense, mental math, conceptual understanding, algebraic reasoning, and word problems more than most other math materials out there.
