About this course
Your child will learn the multiplication tables of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 10 with structured drills (guided videos) and with interactive exercises. The child will also learn to use multiplication in word problems and patterns, practice mental math, and see many connections with other concepts. For each table, we start with the skip-counting pattern. Next, there is "structured drill" where we use the structure of each table in the drill (this promotes conceptual understanding). Then, we also practice each table "backwards" (for example ____ x 5 = 35), which essentially teaches the child the corresponding division facts also. Check also the part 2 of the course, which continues from part 1, and teaches the tables of 7, 8, 9, 11 and 12. Note: This course does not teach the multiplication concept itself.

Course Author
Maria Miller (author of Math Mammoth)🇺🇸
Maria Miller is a math teacher, author of Math Mammoth books, and a homeschooling mom. She grew up in Finland and earned her master's degree in mathematics there in 1997. Miller started writing math books in 2002, prompted by her experiences in tutoring homeschooled children. She felt the books they were using were inferior, especially when it came to conceptual understanding of mathematics. She began to write books that focus on the concepts and the "why" of mathematics, though not forgetting the "how" and the needful practice. Eventually these materials turned into a complete math curriculum under the name Math Mammoth. Her books and videos have become popular and appreciated, both among parents and teachers. Math Mammoth materials and videos focus on number sense, mental math, conceptual understanding, algebraic reasoning, and word problems more than most other math materials out there.
